Eliminate the high
cost of corrosion!
EMPIGARD®
polymer coating
process seals out
corrosion!
Description EMPIGARD
10 polymer coating is a versatile new clear thermosetting coating
which provides outstanding corrosion resistance to metal parts.
This improved coating material has been developed in our research
laboratories especially to meet the requirements of the
automotive, appliance hardware and fastener industries.
The coating material is supplied as a water-borne system that
does not require the use of organic cc-solvents, and is
particularly well suited to today's increasingly stringent fire
and environmental regulations.
EMPIGARD 10 polymer is primarily used on chromated zinc
and cadmium plated steel parts.
Special Advantages
Excellent resistance to corrosive atmospheres in
service and to salt spray (ASTM E 117) or C.C.T.
alternate condensation tests.
Specially designed to accomodate GM 6183M, 6184M,
FORD ESB M21P4, F.E.S. 75, and PS 7187.
Long life...could be used indefinitely.
Exceptional tolerance for accidentally introduced
impurities, as well as ordinarily low-level
contamination.
Very economical, coverage is typically 600-1,200
square feet per gallon, depending on application method.
Could be used on either bulk work or racked parts.
Supplied as a convenient-to-use aqueous liquid, easy
to dilute to desired concentration for application.
Stable after freezing.
No fire hazard...diluted with tap water.
Polymer coating has an ideal balanced combination of:
(a) chemical and solvent resistance, (B) adhesion, (c)
flexibility, (d) hardness, and (e) abrasion and impact
resistance.
Not affected by ultra violet radiation.
Easy to check for polymer's presence and cure.
